Adventures of a talkative old seafaring man Glencannon, Chief Engineer
of the freighter the 'Inchcliffe Castle'.
'Glencannon' Theme Song Lyrics as recalled by
Dan Coli, Richmond, Virginia, USA <danlee01@aol.com)
All I can remember are the opening words:
'From Peru to Honolulu to the sunny shores of Spain'
And the final words:
'Glencannon, Glencannon, tough as a roving buccaneer,
Glencannon, Glencannon, the rough and ready Inchliffe Castle Engineer.
Glencanon!'
'Glencannon' Theme song lyrics as recalled by
Graham Clark, Kent, UK<intray@partnersinp.demon.co.uk> (verse 1)
Mike Jittlov, USA <mike@:wizworld.com> (verse 2)
From Peru to Honolulu
To the rocky shores of Maine
From the River Plate to Bristol
Or the sunny coast of Spain
When a harbour brawl is brewing
And there¹s trouble in the air
You can bet your bottom dollar
That Glencannon will be there!
Glencannon! Glencannon!
Tough as a roving buccanneer!
Glencannon! Glen-cannon!
The canny Inchcliffe Castle engineer!
There's a salty Scottish seadog
Lives on trouble, so they say!
It's remarkable what he can get
And then forget to pay!
So when you hear the bagpipes wailing
On a foreign shore,
You can clear the decks for action
'Cause Glencannon's off to war!
Glencannon! Glencannon!
Tough as a roving buccanneer!
Glencannon! Glen-cannon!
The canny Inchcliffe Castle engineer!
'Bos'n' / 'Bo's'n' - variant spellings of 'boatswain'
Boatswain - a petty officer, or a warrant officer who is responsible
for the maintenance of a ship and its equipment.
